The wild colors Gala

In February 2024 we hosted our inaugural Wild Colors Winter Gala. The Winter Gala is a student art showcase where we display artwork from any artist that has participated in at least one session at Wild Colors in the past year. At our first gala we displayed over 300 pieces of artwork from Wild Colors artists, Cumberland University art students, and our friends at Empower Me Center.

This art show isn’t only about displaying student work. While we want to recognize and celebrate our artists, this show is also a fundraiser to generate funds to be able to offer free art lessons to children in the community! In February, our goal was to raise $2000, and I am thrilled to share that we tripled that goal at our first show!! Thanks to our wonderful community, we are now able offer free Wild Colors Creative Education Program to provide free after school classed to selected school aged students (4-18 yrs) in the area based on recommendation. Recipients will get to come to our after school sessions for an entire semester of free art lessons (Aug-Dec/Jan-May)!

If you have a student in mind that you’d like to nominate, please email Karlie with a paragraph on the student and why they are a great fit for this opportunity. Please include a way to contact you or their parents, that way, if selected, we have a way to reach out to them!
